Chubby baby feet touch wet sand by the salty shoreline. My youngest daughter squeals with excitement. She slaps the water with her tiny hands and splashes water everywhere. My oldest two daughters play nearby, swimming hard and pretending to be sea life. It's the beginning of summer vacation for our family. The time of the year when life slows down and long, sun-lit days fuel outdoor activities. A season when “to-do” lists are slim, and time with family takes priority. Many seeds were laboriously sown these past several months, and now, I welcome this time of refreshment—like the earth welcomes a downpour.
God promises me, “I will refresh the weary and satisfy the faint.”
Jeremiah 31:25, NIV
And I seek him with eager anticipation.
Another day at the beach my bare feet linger at the water's edge. Continuous waves rhythmically flow as I look out towards the gulf's horizon. God's calling me to jump in, go deep, and expend more, but first, always first,
I must seek him.
And so, it is with much excitement I share with you about my planned writing sabbatical.
Beginning today, I will be taking a break from writing for this ministry. You can expect regular posts to resume August 7th. In the meantime, I invite you to follow me on Facebook, where I will re-post favorites from this past year. (Did you know I had a Facebook page? Please show your support by “liking” my page and by inviting your friends to like it as well.)
Also, please pray for this ministry! Specifically, pray for:
God to equip me with everything good for accomplishing his purposes for this ministry. (Hebrews 13:21)
God to renew me in his Word during this time off. (Romans 12:2)
God to grant the women involved in this ministry the spirit of wisdom and revelation, (as they study God's Word) so they may know him better. (Ephesians 1:17)
